AI for Everyday Life: Save Time, Get Organized, and Make Life Easier

Curious about AI but not sure where to start? This fun, hands-on class introduces everyday adults to practical ways AI can simplify daily tasks, save time, and help with planning, writing, and organizing. Participants will explore how to use free AI tools like Chat GPT to create grocery lists, draft emails, organize to-do lists, plan trips, and more - all in a friendly, low-pressure enviormnet. No tech experience required. Bring your curiousity!
*Students are encouraged to bring smartphones, tablets, or laptops to participate, but not required.
*Must be 18 or older.

Laura Coulter is a local business owner and former educator who teaches practical, approachable ways to use AI to save time and simplify life. With 24 years in education and a background in systems and tech, she now helps everyday people and small business owners get organized and feel more confident using tools that make a real difference. I am a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute.
I have been Art Director for BETTER HOMES & GARDENS magazine in Des Moines, Iowa and Art director for LEE RIDER JEANS & WESTERN WEAR in Kanas City, MO.
I have been teaching water color painting for 60 years and have taught over 2,000 people to paint.
I have an Art Studio and a Gallery with over 800 paintings.
I love teaching art and watching people who thought they couldn’t paint, get excited as they grow with their new found knowledge.
Friends and Family CPR Course

Courses are for anyone who wants to learn CPR in a group environment and does not need a course completion card for a job or other requirements.
This course is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, schools and students, and others interested in learning how to save a life
This course is video-led and includes skills practice throughout the course. Skills are taught by usingthe AHA's research-proven practice-while watching technique, which allows participants to practice on a CPR training manikin while skills are demonstrated in the course video.
According to the American Heart Association, performing CPR immediately after a cardiac arrest can double or triple a person's chance of survival; studies show that survival rates for cardiac arrest victims who receive by stander CPR are significantly higher than those who do not,with estimates ranging from 10-12% with CPR compared to 2-8% without This is what will be covered in the class.

AI for Small Business Owners: Automate the Admin, Save Hours Each Week

Running a small business often means wearing every hat - sales, marketing, customer service, admin - all while trying to grow. In this hands-on workshop, business owners will learn how to use free AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks, create customer emails, generate marketing content, build simple follow-up systems, and reduce time spent on routine work. Participants are encouraged to bring a sample of their own business writing - such as a social post, email, or brochure - so they can practice customizing AI outputs to match their personal brand and voice. No tech experience required. Everyone will leave with AI-generated templates they can start using immediately.
*Students encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, in addition to a sample of their own business writing.
*Must be 18 or older.

ACT Prep
with Jennifer Veloria-Dunn

Enhancing your performance on the ACT is instrumental in determining your choice of college. This six-hour course will prepare you for specific types of questions in Reading, English, Writing, Math, and Science and give you pointers on time management, anxiety relief, scoring and general standardized test-taking strategies. Please be sure to bring an ACT approved calculator to the training.
Small breaks will be given. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and a light lunch.
About your instructor:
My name is Jennifer Veloria-Dunn. I have been in education for 14 years and I have been teaching ACT Prep since 2013. My goal is to ease test anxiety and to have students practice ACT specific testing strategies to effectively take the test. After taking this class, many students have reported increasing their composite score by up to 7 points!
Rural EMS Education Session 4

This training is available through a partnership with Baxter Health.
This is for ANY EMT that needs CEU's for their National Registry EMT or an individual interested in obtaining their Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).
These sessions will be offered in a similar pattern from 2026-2027 so if someone is not able to attend all of these sessions they could attend a session in that year.
By attending all 8, it will meet the NREMT and State of Arkansas requirements.
For the EMR they must attend all 8 concurrently, then we will assist the individual in obtaining their EMR through NREMT.

Our missions with Rural Community EMS:“We will do our best to ensure timely and life-saving care in remote areas. ‘We care. For everyone.” The Rural Community EMS course is a forty-hour course taught in eight five-hour sessions from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month ( excluding December) at Arkansas State University at Mountain Home. The course is taught by Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Personnel and is designed to increase public awareness and understanding of the services provided to patients and communities through Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and to certify course participants in basic life support ( BLS), CPR and AED. EMS services function by providing emergency medical care to people who have had a sudden or serious injury or illness, or who have suffered major trauma. Access to EMS is critical for rural residents with pre-hospital service needs.Through lesson presentations and hands-on skill stations, participants will learn how to access help in the event of a life-threatening emergency and what to do until more qualified EMS arrives. This course covers activating the 911 system, hands-only CPR and AED, responding to life-threatening bleeding, penetrating trauma, moving patients to safety, positioning injured patients, airway, respiratory & ventilation, cardiovascular emergencies, individual patient assessment, ethics, operations and communications. The Rural Community EMS program courses will meet the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) requirements for continuing education credits. Program completion will qualify participants to take the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) exam, through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), which is a national certification for individuals providing immediate life-saving care. Passing the EMR exam allows individuals to work as first responders in various settings, including assisting EMTs and Paramedics.
